The family of Golding (originally called Goulding) come from the County of Kent.They were awarded there own Coat of Arms in 1572 and 1619. They moved to Berkshire in the 1600's where the coat of arms was recorded in the Letcombe Regis church as confirmed in 1672. From there some of the family went to America in the 1660's, and were amongst the earlist settlers with the Sidwell family. Some were famous seaman such as Captain John Golding. The others became farmers and Yeoman. They were involved as Yeoman in the Land Enclosure Acts in the 1800's. From there they moved to London where they became involved in a number of trades such as Coach painters for the Royal Family.

The family Kearney orginally came form somewhere in Ireland (unknown). They worked as tailors. They moved to loved during the Potato famin and had a book pasting business. The son Henry Kearney became an Umberella and Walkning stick maker. He had a shop in St Johns Street London. The whole family were involved in the business. When he died in 1911 his partner stole his bank book (William white) and the family were declared bankcrupt and were forced to move to lodgings and take in washing.
